Most trade and small business websites look fine. Very few of them actually bring in work. If your site isn’t generating enquiries, it’s usually missing one of these five things.
1. A clear call to action on every page
Every page should tell the visitor exactly what to do next - call now, get a quote, book a job. If someone has to hunt for your phone number, you’ve already lost them.
2. Fast load times
Most people are looking you up on their phone, often on a job site with patchy reception. If your site takes more than a few seconds to load, they’ll hit back and call the next business on the list.
3. Proof you’re legitimate
Photos of real jobs, real reviews, and clear service areas build trust fast. A generic stock-photo site reads as generic - and generic doesn’t win the job over a competitor who looks established.
4. A Google Business Profile that matches your site
Your website and your Google listing need to say the same thing. Mismatched hours, addresses, or services cost you trust and can hurt how you show up in local search.
5. Someone keeping it up to date
Prices change, new services get added, old projects need replacing with new ones. A site that hasn’t been touched in two years looks - and performs - like it.
If your current site is missing more than one of these, it’s costing you jobs. Get in touch and we’ll tell you straight where the gaps are.
